This course teaches instrumental music through group performance. It is a prerequisite to play a wind or percussion instrument. Members of this class will participate in the marching, concert and pep bands. Any exceptions to these terms will be made by the band director only. Students in this group will play all types of music and will prepare for marching contests and a spring assessment sponsored by KMEA. Being a member of this class allows students to participate in all district and all state auditions as well as honors bands. Freshmen must be recommended to participate by their middle school band director.
